Trauma Training

Trauma Training

Trauma-Informed Care Training

For your organization, company, church, school or community

Trauma is a risk factor in nearly all behavioral health and substance use disorders.

Trauma occurs when a person is overwhelmed by events or circumstances and responds with intense fear, horror, and/or helplessness which can often affect the ability for that person to cope.

But how do you recognize and understand the signs of trauma? How can you help?

You can start by educating yourself/organization by learning how to identify, understand and respond to signs of trauma. This is where Berks Counseling Center can help.

BCC’s Trauma-Informed Care Trainers will come to your organization and teach participants:
  • What trauma means and how it affects people
  • What we can learn by listening to those that have experienced trauma and their stories
  • How stresses at work or in our personal lives make trauma a personal concern
  • How understanding trauma and improving our services helps all of us.
Consider hosting a training at your organization. For detailed information and cost, please call Kathy Haggerty-Kase at 610.373.4281, ext. 4208 or email Kathy at khaggerty-kase@berkscc.org.
